“Amid the pandemic, food markets have faced certain difficulties, but it is the agri-food sector that should demonstrate the greatest resilience to the crisis. Representatives of the industry have already gained experience in the global crisis, and now they are better informed and prepared. And the FAO Office in Uzbekistan is actively working to contribute to ensuring food security, ” said Professor Aziz Nurbekov, a consultant on drought risk management at the FAO Office in Uzbekistan.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations on November 17 handed over modern equipment to owners of household plots in Kamashi district of Kashkadarya region. The donated equipment includes 14 water pumps and 5 foreign brand motor cultivators.
