Travel regulations
The Tourism Development Committee unveiled the new procedure for entering the country, established by the anti-coronavirus commission.
According to the new procedure:
- from March 15, 2021, the COVID-19 express testing at airports, train stations or border crossing points has been canceled;
- passengers arriving by air and rail must hold a certificate of negative PCR test, passed no earlier than 72 hours before check-in;
- passengers entering the country through automobile border checkpoints hold a certificate of negative PCR test, passed no earlier than 72 hours when crossing the border; otherwise they will have to pass an express test in special clinics or laboratories operating at border checkpoints;
- PCR test must be in English or Russian languages before registering at airports, train stations, checkpoints;
- if the COVID-19 express test among citizens of Uzbekistan and stateless persons entering through automobile border checkpoints gives a positive result, then they will be sent to medical facilities located nearby.
Visa applications can be submitted through a centralized e-system. Starting from March 25 , foreigners entering the country will have to hold PCR test certificates (not express), issued exclusively by laboratories recognized by the Sanitary and Epidemiological Authority of Uzbekistan.
Citizens of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan entering the Sokh district, the Uzbek villages of Shohimardon, Chonkara, Toshtepa and transiting to Uzbekistan are not required to take all types of coronavirus tests.
In Uzbekistan, citizens are required to wear medical masks and observe other precautions (social distance, disinfection).
