The Russian agro-industrial holding “ECO-culture” plans to complete the construction of a new greenhouse complex in Uzbekistan by 2024, and to launch the first greenhouses in operation in July 2021.

This is the first production site of the largest agro-industrial holding “EKO-culture” in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The object will be located on an area of ​​150 hectares in the Kizirik district of the Surkhandarya region. There it will be possible to grow tomatoes all year round in greenhouses. It is planned that by the end of construction, the share of manufactured products will be approximately 12 percent of the total production of the agricultural holding.

The work is planned to be fully completed by 2024: by that time, more than 80 thousand tons of tomatoes will be grown there annually.

“Such an increase in production capacity will allow the agricultural holding to provide fresh vegetables not only to the residents of the Russian Federation, but also to enter the markets of the Persian Gulf countries and Asia,” the company said.

At the moment, the construction of structures has begun within the framework of the first stage: on an area of ​​12.8 hectares, the construction of greenhouses with a film coating is underway. Their commissioning is scheduled for July 2021, the expected volume of production is six thousand tons of vegetables per year. In addition, the construction of a wholesale distribution center with an area of ​​ten thousand square meters has begun.

Film-type greenhouses can be used for growing vegetables due to the location of the new complex, high average temperature and long daylight hours.

“One of the most important criteria for choosing Uzbekistan for the construction of new industries has become climatic conditions: an abundance of sunlight, low operating costs – all this makes it possible to significantly reduce the cost of producing high quality products,” – quoted the words of the president of APH “ECO-culture” Alexander Rudakov.
